Acted as a Registered Foreign Agent representing Hong Kong's trading
interests in the Northeast United States (thirteen states plus the District of
Columbia). Managed a staff of thirteen to organize commercial participation at
trade shows; consult US and HK traders and journalists; and receive, process and
respond to specific trade enquiries. Planned, prepared and implemented the
Annual Trade Promotion Programme, with an annual budget of over US$1.5 million
and accountable for an office operating budget of similar size. Interfaced with
government officials in both Washington and Hong Kong on trade policy issues,
and senior corporate executives for promotional purposes, especially via the
US/HK Economic Cooperation Committee.
